Ticketing Tips
If you’re planning to use the bus service in Lisbon, it’s advisable to get a Navegante card as it’s more cost-effective than buying a ticket from the driver (which can be paid only in cash). You can board the bus from the front door, tap your card, and press the stop button when you reach your destination. Please note that with the Lisboa Card, you can enjoy free bus rides except for the Aerobus 91 which operates to and from the airport. It’s essential to understand that the Aerobus is a shuttle service that operates between Lisbon city and the airport. You can buy your ticket on board. A one-way ticket costs 3.60 euros (2 euros for children aged between 4 to 10 years), while a return ticket is priced at 5.40 euros (3 euros for children).
Operating Hours
Although bus schedules differ depending on the line, most buses operate from 6 am to 9 pm. However, popular lines provide their services till midnight. For those who prefer to stay out late, two types of night buses are available – Rede da Madrugada (daily) and Night Bus (weekends and the eve of public holidays).
